All you need to know about Calle Turia and surroundings

ÍNDICE

One of the things we like most about Carrer del Túria is that it still maintains the essence of the neighborhood. It is a street full of life and charm with traditional stores, bakeries, bars, alternative cafes, bookstores, theaters, wine shop, jewelry store, dental clinic, psychology clinic, art school, personal training center, and many restaurants that are really good. This street has it all! Calle Turia is pure explosion of chaotic and artistic activity. Located in the Botanical district and in the heart of the Historic Center of Valencia, it will captivate you from the very first moment.

By popular request from our coworkers who come from different parts of the map, we have decided to write this article, with recommendations of places to visit and activities to do in the surroundings. Let’s go!

Tourism

Enjoy the Turia River

Just 3 minutes away from the Coworking, an essential stop awaits you: the Turia River. For us, it is one of the jewels of Valencia, the true lung of our city. It is the perfect place to disconnect, take a break and marvel at its rich fauna and flora.

Did you know that one of the favorite activities of tourists is to cycle along the riverbed? And no wonder. The plain that crosses the city makes pedaling a real pleasure, besides being super environmentally friendly.

And if you are more into sports, don’t think about it! Going for a run along the Turia is a unique experience. We tell you from experience: it is pure fantasy. So now you know, put on your running shoes and enjoy this green oasis in the heart of Valencia.

If you feel like a day of rest with your children, family or friends, we also recommend that you visit the Parque de Cabecera, where you will also find the Bioparc, a zoo that immerses visitors in the natural and wild spaces of its inhabitants.

Discover the Botanical Garden

A real green oasis awaits you just a stone’s throw from the coworking space: the Botanical Garden. Founded in 1567, this treasure houses more than 4,500 species of plants in its 4 hectares and is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe.

For only 2,50€, you can lose yourself among palm trees, cactus, insectivorous plants and a mini tropical forest. It is the perfect place to disconnect from work and get inspired with new ideas.

Tip: bring your notebook or tablet. Among so much natural beauty, who knows? Maybe your next big project will be born here, surrounded by nature.

Explore the imposing Quart Towers

Impossible to overlook: the Quart Towers rise majestically on the skyline of Valencia. Part of the ancient medieval wall, these 15th century fortifications are a living testimony to the history of the city.

Don’t just admire them from below. For a small entrance fee, you can climb up and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Valencia.

Insider’s tip: go up at sunset to see how the sun bathes the city in golden tones.

Lose yourself in the charm of Barrio del Carmen

Get ready to immerse yourself in the bohemian heart of Valencia: the Barrio del Carmen. This labyrinth of narrow streets and surprising squares is a magnet for tourists and locals alike, and for good reason!

Here, the ancient and the modern merge in a unique blend. Medieval buildings coexist with spectacular graffiti, creating an open-air museum that changes with every visit.

We invite you to wander through its streets aimlessly. Discover small craft stores, bars with personality and corners full of history. Don’t miss the Plaza del Carmen, the heart of the neighborhood, or the impressive Gothic façade of the Iglesia del Carmen.

Tip, visit both during the day and at night. El Carmen has two completely different personalities that are worth experiencing.

Immerse yourself in the Central Market of Valencia.

Just 10 minutes away from our Coworking and Turia Street, an experience that will awaken all your senses awaits you: the Central Market of Valencia.

Breakfast

To start the day off on the right foot, Calle Turia offers excellent breakfast options.

Forn Pastisseria Dorita: death for sweets

Forn Dorita has become a favorite meeting point for coworkers. Whether it’s for breakfast or for that sweet treat that helps us get through the workday, there’s always an excuse to visit. What can you find here? We tell you:

  • Crunchy donuts that are addictive
  • Rossegons (a Valencian childhood classic)
  • Handmade nougat (for Christmas)
  • Delicate marzipan figurines (to celebrate Sant Donís)
  • And the star of the house: almond croissants that are to die for.

So now you know, if you want to start the day on the right foot or need a sweet energy boost, don’t forget to make your stop at Carrer del Túria, 31.

La Greta’s cozy and relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect place for different occasions. Whether you need a quiet space for an afterwork with colleagues, or you want to have a bite to eat after a long day at work, La Greta adapts to your needs.

La Libre: where gastronomy meets literature

La Libre is a unique discovery run by Javier and Pau. This cozy locale combines the experience of a bookstore with that of a restaurant, creating an atmosphere that invites you to linger and explore.

La Libre’s cuisine pays tribute to the Valencian and Extremaduran tradition, offering tapas made with seasonal and local ingredients.

The atmosphere is like being in a mix of home, bookstore and library, with books you can browse or buy while you enjoy your meal.

If you are looking for an experience that combines good food, culture and a cozy atmosphere, La Libre is a must-visit at Calle Turia 52.

El Muelle: from creative cuisine to Valencian nightlife

Strategically located on Quart Street, El Muelle is much more than a restaurant; it is the new hotspot for nights out in the neighborhood. With an interior reminiscent of New York lofts, this versatile space transforms its ambiance as the day progresses.

During the afternoon-evening, it surprises with a short but innovative menu. Its gourmet tostas and creative croquettes are perfect for an early dinner. The fartón dessert with horchata ice cream is a delicious nod to Valencian tradition.

But it’s at midnight when El Muelle really comes to life. The space becomes a vibrant cocktail bar, ideal to continue after work or start your night out. With DJs in the booth on weekends, music and a good atmosphere take over the place.

Good food, better drinks and the perfect atmosphere to socialize with other coworkers.
