What to do in the neightborhood? Best places to visit nearby

que hacer en calle turia

One of the things we like best about Calle Turia is that it still maintains the essence of a neighbourhood. It's a street full of life and charm with traditional shops, bakeries, bars, alternative cafés, bookshops, showrooms, theatre, wine bars, schools and really good restaurants. Calle Turia is a pure explosion of chaotic activity. Located in the Botanical District and in the heart of Valencia's Historic Centre, it will captivate you from the very first moment.

Tourism

Enjoy the Turia River

We start our tour with one compulsory stop: the Turia River. It is a 3-minute walk from the Botánico Coworking and one of the best places to go in Valencia. It is the lung of our city. A good place to disconnect, take a break and admire the fauna and flora. One of the preferred activities for tourists who come to our city is to cycle along the riverbed; the city of Valencia favours the use of this means of transport that respects the atmosphere. We also recommend that you go out to the river for a run, since the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

If you would like a day off with your children, family or friends, we also recommend that you visit the Cabecera Park, where you will also find the Bioparc, a zoo that immerses visitors in the natural and wild spaces of its inhabitants.

Have a stroll at the Botanical Garden

Since we are located right across this huge garden, it would a be huge miss not to recommend it. A spectacle of nature in the historical heart of Valencia. The daily pass is 2.50€ and it's absolutely worth it.

If you need to take a few hours off work and be inspired by new ideas, the Botanical Garden is perfect for you.

See the Torres de Quart

Impossible not to see, the Torres de Quart are the place to go if you want to have spectacular views from above. It's worth a visit.

Have a walk around the Barrio del Carmen

The Barrio del Carmen is alternative, different and very charming. It is one of the preferred areas for tourists and for a reason. We recommend that you get lost in its streets and enjoy the architecture and breathtaking graffiti.

Pay a visit to the Central Market of Valencia

Leisure and culture

See a "tablao" at the Café del Duende

The Café del Duende offers live flamenco performances, always in charge of professionals, both natives and foreigners. A traditional "tablao" that is open from Thursday to Sunday whose spectacular performances have people queue outside its doors since early afternoon. The cost is 10€ with a consumption. Located at Calle del Turia 62, this place is ideal for flamenco lovers.

Have a coffee at El passatge dels gats or La Fábrica de Huellas

Calle Turia, 60.

See a show in the Sala de Teatro and Cine Off

Gastronomy

Have a glass (or two) of wine at El Cubo de Baco

The perfect plan to meet the coworkers after work. This wine bar offers a great variety of wines and bets strongly on the local product. You can enjoy a glass of wine accompanied by some tapas - we love it! Also, Lily and Vicente are amazing hosts 🙂

Give in to temptation at the Forn Pastisseria Dorita

Our favourite bakery. The Forn Dorita is a bakery where you can find traditional rosquilletas, rossegons, turrones, marzipan figurines for Sant Donis and let's not forget the almond croissants that are to die for!

Try the vegetarian restaurant Ana Eva

On this blog, we also offer you vegetarian options. A small and cozy place where you can order from a fixed menu or a-la-carte. What we like most from this place is their Spanish croquettes!

Gastronomic experience at the Atmosphere restaurant

World cuisine with a French touch. This restaurant is perfect if you are meeting clients or if you simply want to enjoy a good meal. It offers elaborated dishes that satisfy every taste. You will find it in 89, Quart Street; just 2 minutes away from Botánico Coworking. Its owner, Emmanuelle, is a super nice person and will make sure you feel at home.

Dinner or tapas at Bocátame or La Malaquita

Both places offer healthy, tasty and original products at an affordable price.

What's good to know is that at La Malaquita, if you get a beer or other refreshment in the evening, you get a tapa to go with it for free ;)

Perfect for a drink after work or dinner.

Have a good coffee at the Napoleon

The perfect option to take a client for a good coffee after lunch. An alternative cafeteria with a lot of charm that offers a very healthy and affordable lunch menu. Have a look at their cakes; they are mouth-watering.

Connect body and mind at Botànic Fisio

Our backs and necks go under a lot of pressure by working at the Botanical Coworking and Jose helped us tons at his Botanical Physio Clinic :P. He and his wife Raquel also offer Pilates and TRX classes, among others. You have them right next to the Coworking, so it is a good option if you want to do some sport or if you need to go to the physiotherapist.

Buy food to go at Tasting Tales or La Vianda

The two best take-out options. The first one, Tasting Tales, offers very very cheap tuppers, from 1,25€ and they are super good. La Vianda offers higher quality ingredients, hence their prices are a little higher. Both are very good options to get your food and eat it in the coworker's kitchen.

And that's all, folks! We hope you enjoyed our recommendations. 🙂
